The Wigan & Leigh Service Area are looking for a group of Rugby League enthusiasts to deliver coaching within the Service Area programme for the 2008 series. There are Eight Assistant Coach Positions and Four Head Coach Positions available. Assistant Coaches responsibilities commence in February until June and Head Coach Responsibilities commence in April until June.

Coaching at the Service Area level opens many doors for further development within the RFL, the Amateur clubs, as well as in the Professional clubs. Service Area Coaching is the first step on the RFL’s Coach Development Pathway and many of our coaching staff progress after Service Area through this Pathway. This year we have reduced the period of commitment for the roles to open the positions up to more coaches.

The Service Area is looking to build on their already established recruitment process and continue to produce a professional Service Area programme. We strive for perfection at every instance and push to be as professional as possible, we expect the same commitment from our coaching staff.

These positions are voluntary.

Positions available:

Head Coach (Four positions available) click here for roles & responsibilities
• Must be at least an experienced Level 2/Club Rugby League Coach working towards Level 3, preferably Level 3 or hold a Senior Coach/Level 3 qualification.
• Must be available to attend all Service Area Games and also any relevant meetings and coach education workshops..

• Must hold minimum Club Coach or Level 2 Qualification.
• Must be available to attend all Service Area Matches, Trial Game and any relevant meetings and coach education workshops.

All appointments will be subject to the applicant being approved by the Coach Education panel and subject to completing a fully enhanced CRB check.
